Where is the visual connection between the zeitgeist of fashion, the attitude of humor and the emotional state of dreariness? I dedicate myself to this question in my work.
I consciously use fashion, styling, props and models to create my visual worlds conceptually. The clash of seriousness and playfulness is almost irritating due to the clear visual aesthetics of the photographs. Staging, stiffness, tristesse and irritation play a major role. The result is a pictorial world that lies somewhere between estepiment and resignation.
Are the works meant to be humorous or serious? Both.
